My Vintage Screened Porch
We are lucky enough to have a nice screened porch, the look and feel matches the rest of the house and I’ve decorated it will all garage sale and flea market finds for under $100.00

The wicker chairs are very old and are actually made of twisted paper rather that wood.
I got the pair for only 50.00, I love the chippy look that they have. I just used a clear spray varnish to minimize the paint flaking off.
Both wood side tables were only 5.00 a piece.

The blue sofa I purchased for 20.00 years ago, it was originally brown but I painted it a lovely blue color.
The chest was only 2.00 at a garage sale, it’s a homemade piece that’s lined with aluminum so I guess it can be used as a cooler for parties. The painted floor cloth post can be seen here.

All the pillows are my designs and the white curtains are actually inexpensive twin sheets hung with wooden dowel rods and cup hooks.
Lovely!!! so peaceful. Perfect for a warm spring afternoon.

ReplyDeleteYour porch is lovely! We grew up with the same chests (with the metal liner) that my mother used as side tables. She got her's in Japan. She always told me that they were Japanese tea chests. I believe that they were used for transporting tea.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful. I love everything -- the rescued furniture, the floor rug, the color palate and your gorgeous pillows.
ReplyDeleteI want I want. You have inspired me. I am going to do something similar, only with glass.
