Design Shuffle
Today we have a special guest from Design Shuffle!
Hi all! I’m Jennifer and I write for Design Shuffle, a social media site that chronicles the work of top interior designers around the world. I've been writing about home decor since graduating university and have loved it ever since. I'm addicted to patterned fabrics, Jonathan Adler, chaise lounges, old doors, milk glass jars, antiques, and more. I'm always on the hunt for a great bargain, just like the owner of Flea Market Trixie, and I love how we both get excited over trash-to-treasure finds. We're also big fans of colour, and I'm excited to share some pretty turquoise and green spaces.
One of the best interior design ideas is to opt for a bold colour - from kitchen design ideas to bedroom designs, every space looks better decked out in a bright hue, especially soothing tones of turquoise and green. On the walls, furniture or accessories, here's how to take visions of turquoise and green and apply them to interior designs.

Two contrasting colours balance each other out in this shabby chic bedroom design - a bluish turquoise is paired with lime green, each being used in equal doses.

While these shades may be bold in their primary state, softer versions of turquoise and green are incorporated into the window treatments, throw pillows and striped area rug.

Decorating ideas for living rooms with high ceilings can be daunting but never fear - turquoise stripes and sweeping green patterned drapes accentuate the space's dramatic configuration.
The Lennoxx via
Sometimes a mix is best - this sitting room looks inviting with differently-styled chairs, such as a plain reupholstered green club chair along with a floral blue vintage dining room chair.
Autolazy via
A melange of bright colours looks interesting in a cozy corner - this kitchenette set-up features antique blue glassware and retro espresso machine as well as green teacups, dinnerware and serving tray.

A turquoise claw-foot tub is the centrepiece of a white bathroom - the green accents come from the trees through the windows, giving the space a soothing atmosphere.
Cococozy via
The turquoise and green touches in this dining room are more discrete when flanked by dashes of red - the striped backs of the chairs and blue leather fronts are also visually appealing.
Houzz via
Subtle smidgens of turquoise and green are applied to the pillows, end table and lamp - they're just colourful enough to keep this bedroom interesting.

I know this is hard to believe but when I went a special getaway back in the early 70's THESE were the colors that were paired together in the hotel in the Bahamas. I loved it then and I love it now! xo Diana
