Painted Wood Floors
For our new Kitchen we're installing wood flooring to match the rest of the house. I've always loved painted wood floors and especially checkerboard floors, so instead of staining it I thought I would paint it.
I'm still not sure what colors I want to use, but I've got plenty of time to make a decision on that one.
I must confess this one is my favorite, just lovely
Black and white is so classic and timeless
Love the pattern on this one
and I love how this looks like a patterned rug, just gorgeous
This painted floor is so unique
Love the great color and pattern on this one
The possibilities are endless.
ok, I am painting my old wood floors...I've always wanted to and now I'm just gonna do it! Lezlee
ReplyDeleteI love the last one...I think it would look great in your home too.
ReplyDeleteI love that first one too!

Hi there!
ReplyDeleteToo funny ~ I just did a post on this too! I'm trying to decide whether or not to paint our upstairs wood floors.......????? I've heard they are difficult to keep clean...but?? I love them too!
Anxious to see what you do. I love the checkerboard pattern!
xo,
Shellagh
These are all just lovely~ amazing all the different looks...
ReplyDeleteI love the look of painted wood floors. They're all great but the first is so wonderful and that other diamond pattern with space in between...terrific!!
ReplyDeleteI too love painted floors. The Harlequin floor is amazing and the lace patterned one is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBut that first one definitely has my heart!

Love that look! I have that same first picture saved in my Decorating Ideas folder! I may even have the kitchen with the black and white floor. I love a harlequin pattern on a floor and would love to have one some day.
ReplyDeleteI love all of them. I painted my kitchen floor red and cream large squares on the diagnal and I alove it. It is very cheerful and unexpected. I would love to paint a floor in the bathroom but they are tiled and I don't think that could be done:) Good luck with yours.

ReplyDeleteWe are getting ready to put down wood floors in out house! I want something that's beat up and weathered looking and of course they are the most expensive! I can't wait to see how yours turns out!

I love them all! They're very unique and really make statement in a room! What a fun project! The results would be so worth it! have a great day!!

I love painted floors too! Our entire house is the original hardwood floors and I hate rugs so we own none. I'd love to paint a rug on the floor to tie everything together but the big hurdle would be talking the Mr. in to it :)

What wonderful inspiration. I'm sure yours will look as least as good as these.
ReplyDeletei vote for no 1 as well. i have pine floors, very beat up right now with our last winter, my 2 dogs[who refuse to let me trim their nails] and our cinders[the rock in our driveway. so i also could use some help with how to fix
ReplyDeleteI LOVE painted floors! The top one is my very favorite. Sooo pretty. I have a painted floor in my entry and it's held up beautifully.
ReplyDeleteWarm blessings,

Hi Miss Trixie,
ReplyDeleteLove your idea to paint the wooden floors. The last photo somehow looked like you to me. Beautiful! I especially loved the first photo..rustic going down..rustic throughout all the wear and tear of living.
Glad to see you back online! Blogging hasn't been the same without you.
Your post made me wish I had some old wood floors somewhere -- adorable! The first one is my fave too, but I love the aqua-ish bathroom floors and the lace ones, and...and...and... ALL OF THEM! Can't wait to see what you do with yours.
ReplyDeleteI love the first one as well. Haven't gotten the courage to paint our yet. Looking forward to seeing yours when finished.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Shelley
Trixie, all these floors are so pretty. I'd love to do this to my plywood (yes, plywood) floors, but I just don't have the energy. Would you come over and help??? Just kidding, I can use area rugs.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing what you chose!

I too love painted floors! I have had one in mind for my dining room for the last several years...the only thing, I don't want to paint on our new flooring. I have an idea to paint on something that will go under my table and still give the same look. Can't wait to see how yours will turn out!!

Victoria
I'm still not sure what colors I want to use, but I've got plenty of time to make a decision on that one. Why modern paint strippers fail
ReplyDeleteDesigned WOOD FLOORING - The upside of utilizing built wood flooring is that it can be utilized straightforwardly finished cement (since you don't need to nail it amid establishment), or underneath grade (since dampness doesn't trouble it as much as strong wood). wood flooring Scotland
ReplyDeleteI discovered this post only yesterday. I see you’ve thought about Wood Floors earlier than us. But I don’t expect you to end your discussion on the specific matter so soon. Can’t you please share more of your insights into it. Really, our neighbor groups who visit our website Powertoolsgudie oftentimes would be happy. Thanks a lot!
