Dreaming of the Islands
Kitchen Islands.............oh I love them
but since I live in a 70's style ranch house with it's a typical galley kitchen I guess I better just keep on a dreaming!
We're planning on gutting our Kitchen one day, but no island is in my future, we just don't have the room for one
but I did find these beauties to share with you.

Love them all - and like you I always wanted an island. Getting ready to gut my kitchen too and have been looking at magazines etc. for ideas, also have a small kitchen 12X12 but am bound and determined to put an island in.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the ideas.
Sylvia
We have a galley kitchen as well but I still dream of an island. Maybe someday when our budget allows and we enlarge our kitchen I'll get that island. Until then I can dream!
ReplyDeleteIn my next life and house, I'll have an island! I love the first one and the last one. I wish, I wish, I wish!
ReplyDeleteI have an island, but it seems to be a catch all for things when we walk into the kitchen! Wish I could figure out how to keep it from getting pile up!

What lovely Islands! and that cubby in 6 is a beauty. Mostly I'm dreaming of whole kitchens. Mine is a mishmash of things that don't work for me. Maybe someday....Sherry
ReplyDeleteI love kitchen islands, too. I have enough room that I could put one of the smaller ones, but we are so used to not having one that I'm afraid I'd turn around from the stove and walk right into it. Plus, the area where it would be able to go is part of our traffic area through the kitchen to the garage side of the house {and the garage door that we use to go in and out of the house}.
ReplyDeleteI should put a table there as a trial and see how it would work.
I love that brown & white kitchen. And that cubby system on the wall - fabulous. I almost forgot to look at the islands. lol
ReplyDeleteHi Trixie, I have been enjoying your blog ever since I found you on rms. I have just joined blogland yesterday and would love for you to come by when you have time. The photos of the kitchens are just beautiful. We don't have a center island but they call the side with the bar an island for some reason. Thanks for sharing, oh and I have one of those kitchens in a book that I have. I think it is called French Country Kitchens....Kim
ReplyDeleteloooove the last one! thanks for the eye candy
ReplyDeleteI love the simplicity of the one in the 2nd photo! Thanks for sharing!

Miss Trixie, thanks for sharing these wonderful photos! You sure know how to please your audience!
ReplyDeleteThanks also for your generous comment Friday on my newest landscape. Couldn't help thinking of your color decor the entire time I painted.
Please keep these fabulous ideas of yours coming! Your site is the best! Blessings and sunshine, Terri Smith, Dimples & Dragonflies, http://www.dimplesdragonflies.com
I agree! Kitchen islands are such a good opportunity to share your creativity. I personally love the ones that look like a piece of furniture as opposed to the ones that look like extra cabinets. Especially the ones that are a unique counter top material. Thanks for sharing this unique collection.
ReplyDeleteI love all these islands!! They are all amazing! Thanks for sharing them. I have no room for an island either. Sigh!! And I too love them
