Mom’s Kitchen Re-do

My sweet mom is now retired and ready for a new look in her Kitchen.
Her Townhouse was built in the 80’s so it had an ugly kitchen, faux wood laminate countertops and ugly flat panel wood cabinets.

Talk about another ugly thing in kitchen, don’t you just love the 1980’s over the range microwave.

The cabinets are in good solid shape so we’re just updating with new doors and paint.

Because her townhouse only has a few windows it tends to get dark, so white is the best choice to keep it light.

For the countertops, we picked out marengo silestone.

  2. I can't wait to see it done. They are STILL putting a lot of microwaves over the ranges in this area...of course they are still putting in oak cabinets, too.

  6. Oh this is gonna be a good one - I can feel it now! Do you have a plan for the highest cabinets? Perhaps glass doors with lights inside? OK now I'm spending your money! lol
I look forward to seeing more!

  11. Just wanted to tell you, you don't need to buy new doors. Caromal Colours is a paint that is wonderful for painting kitchen cabinets. No stripping, no sanding, no priming, No Kidding!!
I love this product. It bonds to everything. Just clean the cabinets with Simple Green spray cleaner (it's a great cleaner and a degreaser) Then paint. You don't even need to take the hinges off, this stuff paints right over it all. Iy WILL NOT Chip or Peel!!! Check out Caromal Colours.com or my website BushWoodArt.com Let me know if you have any questions. I do rep the products. A few years ago- I spent $3,000. on having my cabinets painted in a special finish. I could have done the same thing for $600.00 and painted them myself. I didn't know about CC then.
Just was hoping to save you some to time, energy, and money. Even if you choose not to use CC for your mom's kitchen, it really is worth checking it out.
