chalk paint frame

I’m probably the last crafter on earth that hasn’t tried chalk paint, what can I say I’m always a little behind on things. Because my budget is tight, I wanted to try and make my own and
I found a great tutorial at No Minimalist here blog.
I already had plaster of paris so that’s what I used. It was so easy, I can’t wait to do a larger project with this homemade paint.

the gold frame was nice enough on it’s own, I’m just not a fan of gold frames.

I love the soft plaster like finish it has, and it looks great with one of my new chalkboard prints.
More chalkboard prints can be found here.

  3. This came out gorgeous!! Like you, I am the last of those who haven't bought the pricey chalk paint. Think I'll give this a try too. Can I ask you though, what did you use to get the dark in the crevices?? Typical glazing? Wax? Thanks, Sue

  4. I finally tried it...and it is nice. Did you wax that then when you were done? I think the wax is what really finishes the project. xo Diana

  6. Oh wow! that turned out nice. I haven't tried Chalk paint either because of price...but I did try the DIY chalk paint like you. I like the way it turned out. I have a little table on my porch right now that I painted with Plaster of Paris and green Ooops! paint. I'm happy with it.

    I love that frame!
