Well it's finally done, well at least the painting of the floor is, I still need to put a several coats of polyurethane on it.
Since our entire house has wood floors and the kitchen has 2 openings that connect to the rest of the wood floors, I didn't want to try and match it, so I decided to paint it.
We laid the oak floor ourselves and while it was easy it was back breaking work. I originally wanted to paint it but after laying the floor my sweetie told me that he wanted to see the grain of the wood, so I white washed it instead.
Once I made up the stencil and got started it, it much easier that I thought it was going to be.
I added the turquoise circles to add a little color without being too overwhelming.
I'm happy with the way it turned out and can't wait for my kitchen to be completed.
