All I can say is maybe one day my kitchen will be completely done! Between both of us working full time, illnesses, back problems, heat, you name it, it's taking us a long time.
We're doing all the work ourselves except the electrical and plumbing, and since I'm a perfectionist everything takes twice as long. But I know it will be all worth it in the end and I'm starting to get excited knowing that one day soon I'll be cooking again in a brand new kitchen.
This is my new gorgeous IKEA farmhouse sink with it's new buddy the handsome Moen oil rubbed bronze faucet.
We also purchased unfinished oak countertops from IKEA, we knew we could save a ton of money finishing and installing the wood countertops ourselves and since my other countertop choice was Carrera marble, talk about expensive, it was a no brainer to pick wood. The dark stain color turned out just like I has envisioned and the backsplash is textured paintable wallpaper, I love it because it reminds me of old pressed tin ceiling tile.
Wish me luck that I'll be cooking this year's Thanksgiving meal in my new kitchen.
