Road Trip to Apalachicola

If you love oysters, this is the place, home of the best oysters in the county.
Apalachicola is on the gulf of Mexico and about 2 hours from our house. On the way there we stopped off in a tiny town called Blountstown, my boyfriend's friend is a blacksmith and they were having a knife expo at the cutest little place, it's called Blountstown Pioneer Settlement.
It's really a step back in time with all the old buildings and you can only imagine the way life used to be.
While no one actual lives there, many events are held here.

I can just imagine sitting here on a summer day drinking an ice cold glass of tea.

This house was my favorite, while it was small, it was just so darn cute.

After our adventure at the settlement, we moved onto a nice lunch on the coast.

This was the view from our table, it was rather cloudy that day but still nice and the food was yummy.

After our wonderful lunch we headed towards Apalachicola for some shopping. It's just fun to walk around and visit all the shops in this quaint little town.
On the day we were there they were having a antique car show.
Two turquoise cars in one place, imagine that.

Online Furniture Shopping

Have you ever bought a large piece of furniture online?

My mom has been looking for a new king bed and unfortunately there isn't a ton of selection in our town, so I thought I would look online, why not right?

Many online stores offer good shipping rates and competitive prices. Here are a few I thought she might like and since she's on a budget I had to keep price in mind. All these King beds were under $600.00, which I think is a great price.

I found all these at CSN

Skyline Furniture Tufted High Arch Bed in Black

Skyline Furniture Tufted Arch Bed in Parchment

Skyline Furniture Nail Button Arc Bed in Premier Oatmeal

Can you see I'm loving the upholstered beds?

I'm thinking my Mom also needs a sleeper sofa for her spare room so when company comes they have a comfy place to sleep.

I found all these sleeper sofas here CSN in the sleeper sofa store.

Sofas to Go Sloane Sleeper Sofa

Van Gogh Designs Terry Full Sofa Bed

 Bauhaus USA Merritt Sleeper Sofa

I love neutral colored sofas. Keeping larger furniture pieces like a sofa, neutral, allows you the flexibility in the future to change out the look of your room by just changing your wall color, pillows and accessories. It's a great way to keep things fresh and new without spending a ton of money.

My Kitchen Wish List

Next month we will be gutting our old 70's kitchen, and since our galley kitchen doesn't have room for an island, the next item on my wish list was open shelving. I'm still deciding on the actual look but I love looking at tons of inspiration pictures, here are just a few I found.

Super Super Excited......I won SYTYCD

I just found out this morning that I won the “SYTYCD” contest. All I can say is wow!
I’m so grateful I had the opportunity to compete in the first season; it was a wonderful experience and an unbelievable challenge. Thanks Stephanie for this amazing experience.

All the ladies were so wonderful and super talented, so when I signed on, never in a million years did I think I would win. Thanks to everyone that voted for me and thanks to my sweet wonderful boyfriend and family for supporting me, I couldn't have done it without you.

Brooke from all things thrifty, what a talented girl! Her headboard project was one of my favorites of the competition. I think she came in first 2-3 times, and runner up several times. That in itself is amazing. Brooke great job!
