Well I must say it was fun and I bought a few good things, but one thing in my book that doesn't go together is extreme heat and outdoor shopping.
It was Hot, Hot, Hot and I live in Florida so I'm used to hot weather but nothing like the heat wave they were having.
We started here at Noccalula Falls Park in Gadsden Alabama.

Check out the view from their backyard.
This house was next door to a sale we went to, it was gorgeous.
I'm still stumped on the message they were trying to make on this church sign.
We traveled a total of 1300 miles and saw many beautiful things, our last stop was in Jamestown Tennessee, the town where the 127 sale all started.
Here are a few of the things I found. It was a lot of fun and we met some really nice people along the way.
I went on the World's Longest Yard Sale and had a blast. Bought lots of fun goodies. I see you did also. We started in Kentucky and ended in Gadsden, Al.
ReplyDeleteFun! I had never heard of this before. It would be great to go. So thoughts on that sign... its probably referring to the crucifixion (nails through the hands and feet). Just a guess :)
ReplyDeleteOne day I hope to do the WLYS...maybe next summer! I love all your finds and can't wait to see what you do with it all!
ReplyDeleteOoh, lots of treasures. I just love taking someone elses cast offs and making them work in my home.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a wonderful time!
ReplyDeleteThat church sign catches the eye and is true. Jesus was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities...with His stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53
Oh, now I get the saying on the church sign, thanks ladies.
ReplyDeleteLooks like so much fun!
ReplyDeleteI wanted to go so bad this year still didn't make it! I will go next year!!!
ReplyDeleteDid you stay in hotels?
What a fun trip! It looks like you found some GREAT treasures! And I'd love to know what that church sign meant ;)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you found a lot of wonderful things! Is that a nesting demilune table or a cabinet? I couldn't tell but can't wait to see more of it!
ReplyDeletesounds fun! They need to hold it in the Fall!Looks like you got some great finds!Lezlee
ReplyDeleteI am so envious of those of you who went to the WLYS. You brought back some wonderful things.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping you will show us how you use them in later posts.
hugs

Oh what fun it looks like you had! The scenery is beautiful. And...for you...living in Florida the views must have been amazing! I have never gone to one of those sales but one of my hubby's co-workers went with her sisters and they had a ball. They came back with every spare space in their truck packed! I love the road sign...not the church one-the one you nabbed...lol Glad you had fun! Trose
ReplyDeleteWell I went to Scott's Antique Market today but that wasn't near as much fun as the places that you went! I love road trips...especially when they include junking!!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds!
ReplyDeleteI've never been but me & a few girlfriends are already planning a trip for next year!!!
That would be so much fun, the only thing that would make it better if they would have it in a cooler month! I love the scenery it's just breathtaking!!! Looks like you brought back some wonderful treasures! Blessings~~~ Daphne
ReplyDeleteChurch sign, Jesus' hands and feet were pierced with nails, his dieing on the cross saves us.
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see my home town! Thanks for posting. Oh and the heat is dang near unbearable. I never could understand why they don't have the sale during a cooler month.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun!! Love the church sign...very cool message!!
ReplyDeleteLooks and sounds like you had a terrific time. The scenery is amazing!

I would love to go on this one day! We just did a smaller version yesterday in MI ~ didn't look nearly as fun as what you did. Great treasures!
ReplyDeleteNot sure about the church sign either!
1300 miles, WOW! We only traveled about 400 and that wore me out! Great treasures, glad you had a good time! Love the mountain photos!

some day I am going to get to do this!!!!
ReplyDeleteI so wanted to do the sale this year. It sounds like you had fun and got a lot of great things. I see some pretty aqua things in your pile! Hugs, Sherry
ReplyDeleteJesus was crucified with nails through his body so I'm thinking that was the reference to body piercing. That's a good one.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun time, with great treasures to boot! What a beautiful view those folks have, just gorgeous! Thanks for sharing, I've wanted to do some of those sales for a while now! Theresa
ReplyDeleteI love this! Looks like so much fun. That area is so beautiful and so different than California. Im intrigued by different places of the country and how green they are. We are very hot and dry (brown) hahaha. Looks like you had such a great time. I love that!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Debbie
Oh wow!! Those are some beautiful shots! You made out with some terrific pieces!! Thank you for sharing!

Oh, for views like that! I am also in FLA...no valley vistas, sadly. But we do have the best beaches in the world, so that is a BIG consolation! Having fun reading your posts...glad I found you :-)
