I love making something from nothing and this is a great example.
The frame to this mirror came out of a packing box for furniture. I think it’s purpose is to support the cardboard box to keep the furniture inside from being damaged.
I picked it out of the trash pile at a local furniture store. It’s made of MDF and all I had to do is remove the center piece of wood that was attached to the frame.
I had leftover textured wallpaper and thought it would make a great faux tin looking mirror.
I lightly wet the wallpaper just as I would as if I was hanging it on the wall but also applied white glue to the frame, MDF can soak up materials like I sponge I thought it was important to add this step. I carefully applied the paper, trimmed it up and once dry, painted it. I used several different colors to add depth and applied an antique glaze to age it up.

Love the colors you chose. Don't you just love the textured wallpaper. I recently did the ceiling in my studio powder room. Was trying to decide what to do with the leftovers.
I love it - it's beautiful!
Very thrifty and I love the color, but I'm a sucker for aqua and turquoise too! Beautiful job.
Love it! 'Course I love everything you do over here....
Wonderful!
And I'm loving the visual of you picking trash out of a furniture store's dumpster ...! :)
Looking good here...what an awesome idea! Dumpster diving ROCKS!!! Hope you have a FUN day!
Blessings,
Linda
It was in a trash pile next to the store, not the dumpster, lol :)
Not that I wouldn't dumpster dive, but it would need to be a really really good find for me to do that!
What a great idea & use of textured wallpaper. This turned out gorgeous!!

I love that you used something that would have ended up in the landfill and repurposed it into something beautiful for your home. I'm always learning something new from you.

Love the color! I have a roll of that textured wallpaper, too, and find new uses for it every day! I'll be so sad when it's gone...
