I painted the frame a light aqua color, added cream colored burlap and a vintage flower pin. Now it fits perfectly in my living room.

I knew I wanted to make a vintage looking sign but I also wanted a meaning attached to it. King is their last name and she's a great baker so Kings Bakery was born. The number on the sign is the date they got married, Ewing is her maiden name and Key West is the location where they tied the knot. It's gonna look great in their new kitchen, I hope they love it.
Well I sure couldn't, this is Bailey, my little rescue puppy. I'm a huge animal person, I love cats and dogs all the same. I don't have any children although I've always wanted them; it just wasn't in the cards for me. While I already had 4 cats, I wanted a dog to add to my family. I was torn between getting an adult dog or puppy. My reasoning for an adult dog is they are usually harder to place but on the other hand I had to think about my cats and I was worried an adult dog possibly attacking them. I had my heart set on meeting an adult dog that I had found on Petfinders, I was told she seemed fine around cats, but just a few days before meeting her I got a call saying that they had found her original owner. Needless to say I was a little sad but happy that she was reunited with her family. Once again, back on Petfinders searching for a dog/puppy in need of a family, I found her. We had to drive 4 hours round trip to meet the cutie and she was worth every minute. Well Bailey will be 1 year old in a few weeks and I can't imagine my life without her. I was inspired to write this after reading a post from the Decorated House blog. Please check out her story and the organization

This time of the year we tend to think of people in need, but those furry little friends need our help as well, so please donate to your favorite pet charity/rescue center to help a animal in need.
Well somehow it lost it's way from it's buddy the china cabinet and ended up in the throw away pile. I kindly asked if I could have it, at that time not really having any idea what I could make from it. I thought possibly a really long coat rack, but I didn't have a need for a 5-6 foot coatrack. I've learned along the way that you may not know initially what on earth you'll do with it, but someday you will, and that someday came along. I thought it would make a neat old looking sign, so I cut the ends down to the size I wanted added some 1X6 pine boards,painted it, distressed it and now I proudly hang my free sign in my hallway. 
I unfortunately don't have a before picture, but it started out as a not so bad craigslist find. It was originally black and beige decorated with painted flowers on each drawer, I didn't hate the way it looked but I knew the colors wouldn't work in my house and the top was damaged. You will begin to see my favorite color is turquoise, and turquoise it had to be. I painted the middle drawer using a lazer cut scrapbook page as my stencil. The new and improved bombay chest fits perfectly in my entrance way.
